Honoring Huntsville's Space Explorers
The Marshall Retirees Association (MRA) created a Space Exploration Wall of Honor at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. This wall of honor recognizes and honors the people and companies whose dedicated teamwork made America’s space exploration possible from right here in Huntsville, Alabama. This dynamic wall of honor salutes these space explorers and serves as an inspiration for future generations to follow in their footsteps and take us beyond.
The Space Explorers in Huntsville have built the rockets and spacecraft which have enabled humankind’s greatest journey! These tens of thousands of explorers, together with their families, have been the wind beneath the wings of America’s space program and the success of Huntsville and Madison County. MRA also developed an online database connected to the Wall of Honor that contains the names and accomplishments of the Marshall employees and the contractor employees who worked with Marshall. There is an interactive kiosk alongside the Space Exploration Wall of Honor where visitors can search names found on the monument and learn more about that person’s specific contributions to the advancement of spaceflight.
The initial phase of this project is completed. Additional funding will be used for sustaining the Wall and the addition of names over the coming years. You can help MRA’s efforts by donating to the Space Exploration Wall of Honor. Donations can be made in honor or in memory of others, and all donors will be recognized on our website unless requested otherwise. You can also support the MRA and Space Exploration Wall of Honor by submitting information of those to be honored to the Space Explorers Database.
